About the Cabinet
The Cherry Hill Citizens Cabinet is a volunteer group that meets with the Mayor and senior members of the administration to help the Township discuss ongoing initiatives, residents' concerns, community needs, and more. The group serves as an additional communication vehicle between the Mayor’s Office and the residents of Cherry Hill. Members serve as ambassadors to their neighborhoods and community organizations.
By working together, we can ensure that the lines of communication remain open and the residents of Cherry Hill can continue to enjoy the town that we call home.

- Mayor Cahn opens meeting and welcomes attendees.
- Introduced Council Vice President Sara Lipsett, Councilwoman Carolyn Jacobs and Councilwoman Melinda Kane.
- Human Relations Advisory Committee
- Showed ‘Hate Has No Home in Cherry Hill’ video
- The Cherry Hill Human Relations Advisory Committee was formed by the Township in March 2017, in response to growing concerns about equality and human rights among members of our community. Cherry Hill is a town rich with diversity, and we want to ensure it remains a place where men, women and children from all walks of life know they are safe, valued and welcome.
- Parks and Recreation Update
- Township goal to upgrade all 32 playgrounds throughout town
- The Township will reach out to community leaders to determine the theme and personality of each individual park.
- Road Improvements
- State Roads – Route 70 is in the middle of getting a complete mill and overlay. The state will be doing a total reconstruction within the next 3-4 years.
- County Roads – recently Springdale Road and Cooper Landing Road were redone. The county will be repaving parts of Chapel between Cooper Landing and Kings Highway to include bike lanes and Haddonfield Berlin Road.
- Township Roads – Township continues to repave roads and has invested millions of dollars in the last few years tackling the worst roads.
- Economic Development
- Lidl – German grocer will be opening on Route 38 near Walmart and Wawa
- Tesla – Will be moving in to the building next to Atlas Wallpaper on Route 70
- At Home – will be moving into the former Pathmark shopping center, and Big Lots will be moving to another spot within the strip center
- Wood Spring Suites – hotel currently being built on the site where Steak & Ale sat on Frontage Road – it will have 134 rooms
- Master Plan – Township is in beginning stages of amending its Master Plan.
- A Master Plan is the long-term “vision” for the development of the community, put together with community input and a thorough analysis of existing and projected conditions. Process will include multiple public meetings and outreach.
- Master Plan provides policy direction for land uses, community facilities, circulation, and other needs.
- In New Jersey, the Master Plan must be reexamined every 10 years. A Master Plan must include a Land Use and Housing element by law but may include other elements that are important to the community.
