In accordance with Gov. Murphy’s Executive Order No. 147, Cherry Hill Township has announced the reopening of Township tennis and pickleball courts throughout town, starting Friday, May 22. Restrictions included in the Gov’s order will be imposed, and include limiting capacity at any one facility to 10 people at one time, and strictly adhering to proper social distancing at all times. This includes staying six feet apart whenever practicable, excluding immediate family members, caretakers, household members, or romantic partners, and wearing proper face coverings where social distancing is not practicable when entering or exiting these facilities.
In locations with multiple courts in one area, nets will be removed on certain courts to facilitate proper social distancing and discourage large groups from gathering. In addition, the gates to enter and exit the courts will be tied in a way that allows for touchless entry.
The Township requests the cooperation of all residents and visitors in complying with these mandates so as to limit the spread of COVID-19 and allow these facilities to remain open.
April 29, 2020: In light of Governor Murphy’s executive order to reopen state parks and golf courses, Cherry Hill Trails and Parks will reopen Saturday, May 2nd for passive recreation. Please continue to follow social distancing guidelines, wear a facemask or covering, and wash your hands whenever possible. Playgrounds and recreational fields will remain closed—this includes basketball, hockey, tennis, pickleball, soccer, and baseball fields/courts etc. While we look forward to the changing weather and as we begin to see improvements in trends related to COVID-19, it is unfortunately not possible to maintain social distancing with all activities and equipment, but we hope to be able to open these other facilities soon. Enjoy the outdoors!
